The American School of Pachuca was founded in 1920 by the American
Smelting, Mining, and Refining Company to provide services to the
children of its English employees. The American School of Pachuca
currently offers a bilingual and bicultural education to approximately
1000 students in the Preschool, Primary and Secondary levels. The
Primary and Secondary levels are accredited by the Mexican Secretary
of Public Education (SEP) and the school is an active member of
the Association of American Schools in Mexico (ASOMEX), which is
a member of the Tri-Association of American Schools of Central America,
Colombia, and the Caribbean & Mexico. Spanish program and the Secondary
English program are based on SEP (Secretary of Education) standards.
The English Preschool and Primary Program at American School of
Pachuca are based on standards currently utilized in various states
in the US. The majority of the English program is independent from
SEP guidelines, and the Spanish and English sides of the curriculum
are organized to enrich and complement each other. All the programs
at American School of Pachuca are tailored to fit the needs and
characteristics of our students with a focus on internationalizing
and enriching the curriculum..
